Faith without works is dead

My washing maching failed on me last week so I was forced to wash by hand.  It started its problems earlier but each time, I'd just lay my hands on it and whisper a prayer...it'll actually begin to work.  Getting someone to come fix it would delay a little as you have to first book an appointment and all that protocol.  That meant I would most likely hand wash again this weekend; I wasn't looking forward to it.

So after everyone left the house this morning, I got the machine's user guide and began to read it.  When I was sure I had gotten the information I needed, I unplugged the machine and began to clean corners.  That was when I observed where the root of it's problem lay.  Cleaned it out thouroughly and boom, my machine came back to life.  The way I felt when it began to spin was sincerely indescribable.

What am I trying to say?  I needed to put my faith to works.  What if I was still laying hands on it believing it would come back to life?  That's how one maintenence guy would come and do the exact same thing I did and bill me 80 - 100 euros.  Don't get me wrong please, there is nothing prayers can't do and I'm a strong believer of prayers.  It is God's hands that have brought me this far; but we need to work our faith.  You just sit there, do nothing and expect a miracle.  How?  Get up!  Don't be lazy and don't ridicule God please.  In all your prayers, move, act, make that call, speak up, learn that trade.  Transform that your dream into reality because FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD! James 2: 26

Meanwhile, shouldn't I be paid the maintenance fee since I fixed the machine?  That is now the arguement I'm having with my hubby (lol)

Shallom saints!  See you soon!

PS:  Picture insert not taken by me.  Got it off of google.

  1. Amen sister. Faith without works really is dead. For us to achieve certain things in life we need to act, take that first step and believe in God's plan for us.
And You should be paid oo.
